A series of copper-clad butterfly roofs maximize interior views of the mountaintop directly behind the residence while keeping the overall height within hillside restrictions. The roof geometry also provides a simple means to collect rainfall used to supplement landscape drip-irrigation. A steel frame structure facilitates large open interior spaces and expansive glazing using commercial components. The project features comprehensive home automation and A/V systems and was delivered to the owner completely furnished and equipped. The majority of furniture and domestic accessories were custom designed.
