Copper Peak
Scottsdale, Arizona
The project was designed and built on speculation with an investment partner. The exaggerated horizontality provides a contrast to the Black Mountain context and anchors the massing into natural terraces of the topography. Overlapping triangles of the plan expressed with crisp edges and sharp cantilevers, are a counterpoint to the soft-curvature of an adjacent project designed prior. The project is structural masonry and steel, with striated stone cladding to further emphasize the horizontal and suggest conceptual directionality to the city-views.
